Aloha lā mākuahine! Warmest greetings to you all as we celebrate the love of our mothers on this joyous day.

Our official end of School Year 2019-2020 is Friday, May 22, 2020. It will be the pinnacle of our schoolʻs spirit week and we are excited to wrap up this amazing year with a celebration for Papa Hānai ʻAi. Kula Kauwela applications for our online summer school are now available on our website for interested elementary students statewide. Admissions letters for new students will be sent out this coming week and re-enrollment packets for our current students will soon follow. So many exciting things are in the works!

It has been on my heart to share with everyone our organization’s mission, vision, and inspiration as we close out this beautiful school year and look to our upcoming growth and advancement. The dawn of School Year 2020-2021 is upon us, so letʻs greet her with full knowledge of who we are and a clear understanding of our intentions.

Ka Nuʻukia, Our Mission | Grounded in the language, values, and wisdom of our kūpuna, Ke Kula ʻo Piʻilani inspires a lifelong love of learning by cultivating and enriching environment where diverse students grow to be united, confident, globally competitive servant-leaders who think critically and creatively to contribute to the betterment of Maui, Hawaiʻi, and the world.

Ke Ala Nuʻukia, Our Vision | Founded in the values of ALOHA, love and respect, KULEANA, responsibility and privilege, and ʻIMI ʻIKE, a thirst for knowledge, Ke Kula ʻo Piʻillani creates opportunities for our community of learners to apply traditional Hawaiian wisdom and customs to our contemporary lives.

Ke Kīpaipai, Our Inspiration | We draw our inspiration from Ke Aliʻi Piʻilani, the 16th century king of Maui, who achieved unification through leadership that inspired peace, prosperity, and innovation. Prioritizing community connection, he constructed the alaloa, a road that encircled the island and linked all our people, their knowledge and their resources islandwide. The alaloa exists to this day, a measure of antiquity preserved across Maui as tribute to the legacy of Ke Aliʻi Piʻilani. Inspired by Ke Aliʻi Piʻilani, our organization is motivated to connect our students and their families to resources and knowledge by journeying together on this road of independent education. We strive to instill qualities of leadership, collaboration, unification, strength, and vision in our students and to uphold this powerful Maui legacy for generations to come.

Me ke aloha, na Kahu Kekai Robinson, Poʻokula Kūikawā
